Application System Administrator (3673) (Secret to TS)

SMX is seeking a Windows Application System Administrator. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in designing, documenting, and installing innovative application solutions to meet the evolving needs of our organization and its clients. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, creative problem-solving, and effective communication skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand application requirements and translate them into effective application solutions
• Contribute in the design scalable and efficient solutions that align with industry best practices and standards.
• Create/edit technical documentation for developed solutions, including system architecture, data flow diagrams, and user guides.
• Communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Contribute to the installation and configuration of application solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve installation issues, working closely with support teams and third-party vendors when necessary.
• Provide hands-on support during the implementation phase to ensure successful deployment.
• Collaborate with software developers, system architects, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with overall system architecture and strategic goals.
• Participate in cross-functional team meetings to gather insights, share progress, and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Conduct thorough testing of application solutions to identify and address any issues before deployment.
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.

Required Skills: 

• Available to work onsite at Patuxent River NAS
• The selected applicant must have DoD 8570/5239 IAT Level II Certification (Security + CE equivalent, or greater), and the ability to work independently and as part of a team in RDT&E environments.
• An active DoD Secret clearance is required to start with ability to upgrade to Top Secret.

Desired Skills:

• Familiarity with communicating technical concepts with stakeholders
• Experience with Callware, Netplus, and Cisco products, and AWS.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Organizational and communication skills.
• Testing and troubleshooting of application solutions, system architecture.
