Art Director

The Position

We are looking for an Art Director to join our team. This role will report to our Design Director and work closely with our content and marketing teams on social and paid campaigns, and other creative content across the AIR COMPANY brand. This role is based at AIR COMPANY HQ in Soho, NY.

What you get to do

• Create concepts for social that span multiple platforms and across levels of production from our in-house photo studio up to large scale multi-day productions
• Work across departments to ensure creative work adheres to our masterbrand, product, and channel strategies while simultaneously find ways to flex and push the brand
• Draw insights from past performance to guide creative decisions and execute concepts efficiently
• Provide on-set direction to guide shoots towards set shot-lists
• Write briefs and communication with external contractors across photography, videography, and 3D
• Work closely with photographers and videographers on event capture pre, during, and post production as well as edits and finalization of assets
• Work with designers to incorporate design + motion graphics into final deliverables
• Organize and maintain content libraries

What you bring to AIR COMPANY

• 5+ years experience in art direction or related field
• In-house experience for e-commerce or technology brands or related portfolio within agency
• Strong visual storytelling skills, conceptual skills, and solid understanding of craft
• Strong digital background with experience in modern collaborative workflows
• Experience working with brand design systems and digital asset managers
• Strong photo/video editing skills with working knowledge of Adobe Suite, Figma, Frame.io
• Good typography, layout and color skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Excellent project management and organizational skills
• Enthusiastic, curious, proactive, and positive attitude
• Roster of trusted collaborators

Bonus Points

• On-camera skills
• Experience sourcing sound for video

Portfolio

• Work that shows concept-based thinking carried through to execution
• Past campaign-based social and paid work

Salary Range: $80,000 - $120,000

The approximate annual base compensation range and benefits listed above may vary based on the applicant's experience, skills, abilities, and relevant industry expertise.
