ESG Corporate Research

AWM's Fixed Income Corporate Credit group is seeking a candidate with a background or experience in ESG and sustainability to join the ESG Corporate Research team in The Hague. You will work alongside analysts, traders and portfolio managers to support and grow the team's ESG integration and sustainable investing capabilities across the investment grade, high yield and leveraged loan asset classes. ESG frameworks and solutions enable us to make better-informed investment decisions and focus on meeting client needs.

The successful candidate will be expected to collaborate closely with our industry analysts on activities ranging from company, sector and thematic ESG research to company and client engagement. You will also have the opportunity to work alongside experienced and passionate colleagues across Goldman Sachs focused on this fastmoving and strategically important space, helping to ensure the Fixed Income Corporate Credit team continues to adapt and grow our ESG and sustainable investing activities.

Whilst not a pre-requisite, experience in company and industry research or fixed income would be additionally welcome. The successful candidate must demonstrate a commitment to a team-oriented culture, have strong data/organizational skills and be an excellent communicator.

Principal Responsibilities

• Contribute to developing and maintaining frameworks for assessing ESG and sustainability factors for companies, sectors and themes across the investment grade, high yield and leveraged loan asset classes.
• Working with the industry analysts to evaluate material risks and opportunities using a proprietary ESG assessment framework.
• Assisting portfolio managers focused on responsible investing to incorporate relevant ESG and sustainability criteria into fixed income portfolios.
• Engagement with companies alongside industry analysts and internal stewardship specialists.
• Collaborating with colleagues across AWM Public to align and implement new ESG integration and sustainable investing frameworks where appropriate.
• Participating in internal and external industry initiatives as appropriate, with a focus on identifying emerging environmental and social trends, as well as evaluating new standard and non-standard datasets.

Experience/Skills

• Relevant experience in ESG and sustainability.
• Background in company and industry research and/or familiarity with fixed income or asset management is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills and comfortable presenting in a variety of forums.
• Strong data analysis skills and critical-thinking mindset.
