Assistant Controller

JOB DESCRIPTION Assistant Controller Location:On-site in San Antonio, TX Compensation:$120,000 – $135,000 Acommercial real estate development and constructioncompany is seeking anAssistant Controllerto support in overseeing accounting operations and financial reporting. This position offers exposure to bothcorporateandproject-levelaccounting and is ideal for someone looking to advance into a leadership role. What’s in it for you as Assistant Controller: • Competitive pay with full benefits package • Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability coverage • Paid vacation, sick leave, and holidays • 401(k) with company match • Opportunities for advancement in a supportive, team-oriented culture Key Responsibilities of the Assistant Controller: • Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end close • Prepare and analyze financial statements, general ledger, and budgets • Review and reconcile accounts payable, accounts receivable, and maintain balance sheet schedules • Reconcile and validate entries to balance sheet and income statement accounts • Assist in managing working capital, including weeklyproject cash reportsand recording transfers/wires • Assemble, submit, and trackequity fundingorloan draws • Support budgeting, forecasting, andproject-level financial reporting • Assist in developing accounting procedures and strategies to improve record-keeping and reporting • Complete forecasting and analysis to ensure accuracy ofjob cost reports • Collaborate withdevelopment directorsonproject budgetmanagement • Support Controller with audits, compliance, and team leadership initiatives Qualifications of the Assistant Controller: • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field • CPA preferred but not required • 4+ years of accounting experience, including general ledger and reporting work • Experience withSageor similar ERP/accounting software • Construction industryexperience is a plus • Strong organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail#INSEP2025 #LI-MB1 #ZRCFS #accounting #finance #controller #assistantcontroller #construction #development
