Leading San Diego hospitality group is looking for a dynamic and experienced Assistant General Manager to help lead the team at their hyper-seasonal, modern Italian restaurant. This chef-driven concept is known for its quality cuisine, craft cocktails, and strong pasta program using only the highest quality ingredients. The ideal candidate will be coming from an upscale dining background with strong leadership and interpersonal skills, and the ability to inspire teams to achieve their goals. Some experience managing beverage programs is preferred, and any prior chef-driven restaurant experience is a big plus! Assistant General Manager Responsibilities: • Assist the General Manager in overseeing day-to-day operations of the restaurant, including but not limited to, staffing, inventory management, and quality control • Ensure the team is knowledgeable on the menu items • Hire, train, motivate and coach team members • Perform all aspects of the job with a high level of professionalism and integrity • Take initiative and help to build business and repeat customers • Provide leadership and guidance to front-of-house and back-of-house teams, fostering a positive work environment and ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures • Uphold high standards of guest service and satisfaction, proactively addressing any issues or concerns to ensure a positive dining experience for every guest • Work closely with the General Manager to monitor efficiency and COGS to optimize profitability while maintaining quality and service standards • Implement training programs to enhance team performance and skill development, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations, conducting regular inspections and implementing corrective actions as needed • Work closely with the General Manager and other department heads to achieve business goals, contribute to strategic planning, and drive overall success of the restaurant • Assist in managing the beverage program • Hold team accountable to high standards while remaining hands on and leading by example • Fully understand and comply with all federal, state, county and municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety and labor requirements Assistant General Manager Requirements: • 3-5+ years of progressive management experience in an upscale, chef-driven restaurant concept is required; i.e. Restaurant Assistant General Manager (AGM), Service Director, Senior Manager, Restaurant Manager, Food & Beverage Manager, Dining Room Manager, FOH Manager, Hospitality Manager, or comparable title • Passion for food, beverage, and service • Passion for high-caliber food, beverage, and high-end guest service • Strong knowledge of wine and spirits • Basic understanding of administrative functions and controlling cost of goods • High attention to detail • Reliable and punctual • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written • Strong sense of integrity and initiative • Strong interpersonal, leadership, coaching, and conflict resolution skills • Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively • Ability to analyze processes and information, identify problems and trends, and develop effective solutions and strategies • Commitment to providing exceptional service to guests and support to staff members • Exceptional standards for cleanliness, health, and safety • Computer proficiency, including the use of Microsoft office • Flexible schedule, including weekends, and on holidays • Food safety certification Compensation Package Includes: • Base Salary in the $85-95k range DOE • Bonus Structure • Medical Benefits • PTO Plan Job Type: Full-time Pay: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year Benefits: • Health insurance • Paid time off Shift: • 10 hour shift Supplemental Pay: • Bonus opportunities Work Location: In person
