Job Title:Assistant Project Manager
Job Summary:The Assistant Project Manager plays a crucial role in supporting Project Managers and field teams to ensure the successful execution of construction projects. This position involves assisting with project planning, coordination, and day-to-day operations to ensure that cost, schedule, document control, and quality standards are consistently met.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform material takeoffs and manage procurement orders to meet project requirements.
• Oversee the purchase order system, ensuring timely and accurate acquisition of materials.
• Assist in rebar detailing to ensure project specifications and quality standards are met.
• Review, label, and organize construction plans for accurate documentation.
• Support the preparation, submission, and tracking of submittals.
• Review timecards and production numbers to monitor project progress and efficiency.
• Assist in the preparation and processing of change orders and extra work orders.
• Coordinate project scheduling to optimize resource allocation and timelines.
• Communicate essential project information to field teams to ensure clarity and alignment.
• Proactively identify and address potential issues, providing risk management solutions.
• Attend and actively participate in weekly construction meetings, providing valuable input.
• Assist Project Managers in documenting meeting minutes and follow-up actions.
• Maintain a high work ethic, adhering to GADCO Safety Policies and ensuring compliance across all project activities.
• Perform additional duties and tasks as assigned to support overall project success.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Science or a related discipline.
• A minimum of one year of experience in the construction industry or a related internship is preferred; field experience is preferred.
• Strong ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and work under tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Physical Demands:
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs occasionally.
• Regularly required to talk, hear, use hands and fingers, stand, walk, sit, and reach.
• Occasionally required to bend, squat, twist, reach, carry, push, and pull.
