Associate Art Director - League of Legends

As Associate Art Director for League Summoners Rift Gameplay Team, you will help create new & novel game-play experiences to engage players. You will oversee the work of a diverse team of concept artists, animators, VFX, visual design, 3D characters, creatures, and environment artists. You will ensure the art team is meeting product needs. You will partner with production to sustain a healthy developmental pace.

As Associate Art Director for League of Legends, you will report to the Art Director.

• Lead internal development of new tools and engine improvements
• Drive on the evolution of the visual direction of League to embrace modern tools and engine features while working with Tech Artists, designers, and engineers
• Collaborate to produce and maintain style sheets, process, and pipeline guidelines
• Oversee the quality of Map art assets coming from the internal team
• Give artists clear feedback through paint-overs, personal and group critique
• Work with external vendors & development partners
• Actively support and mentor the craft growth of artists on your team
• Document and communicate progress with the broader organization
• Participate in playtest and grey-box ideation for discovery and development

• 6+ years experience in the video games industry
• 2+ years of management experience
• Worked on shipped titles and live evergreen projects, like League of Legends
• Extensive experience and interest in the MOBA Gaming Space
• Proficiency in current video game development tools, pipelines, and workflows
• Experience creating 2D & 3D stylized art
• Background in Environment or Character modeling as a Concept, Character or VFX Artist

• Experience designing content for isometric camera views.
• Affinity for Runeterra IP or general knowledge of League of Legends.
• Experience with broad appeal vs. niche aesthetics.
• Wide range of pop-culture knowledge: anime, games, movies, and graphic novels.

This role will require you to submit a portfolio of your recent and updated work in your specific craft discipline.
