We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and creative professional to join our collaborative team. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in product development, visual merchandising, or buying, preferably within a catalog or retail environment. This role calls for a strong sense of trend awareness and product intuition to identify compelling new items and categories that align with our customers’ values and interests. Experience in buying inspirational or religious gifts, church supplies, or related merchandise is highly desirable. Responsibilities/Requirements: • Support Brand Manager to ensure the profitability and managing gross margin to meet budgeted levels. • Support Product Development for home décor, housewares products, giftware, jewelry/accessories • Support management with accurate and timely reports • Highly collaborative mindset and thrives in a fast-paced small team environment • Excels with driving cross-functional alignment • Assist and track expenses to stay within budget. This includes regular reviews of sales and product mix that will impact overall margin levels. • Work with Brand Managers to assist in meeting financial goals, attributes, and quality standards are consistently met. • Responsible for tracking product line size, SKU productivity and product life cycle. Work with Inventory Analyst on exit strategies for slow moving and obsolete items. • Develop specifications for new products, negotiating with vendors. • Help maintain vendor relationship status through proper communication. • Prepare for product shows relating to sample show preparation, packing samples, schematic planning, show set up, power points, and training materials. • Possible domestic travel to trade shows for set up and display (twice annually). • Writing, editing, and proofing copy for catalog page layouts, photography, and email promotions. • Preparing concept and line reviews for approval. • Analyze competition and ensure assigned products have a competitive edge. Education/Experience: • Bachelor’s degree a plus • Proficient in both spoken and written Mandarin, required • Proficient in Microsoft Excel • Technologically savvy, detail oriented and organized • Strong sense of urgency and problem solving • Prior experience in the gift industry a plus Working Conditions and Physical Demands: • General office environment with standard office equipment • Hybrid work schedule. • Work is generally sedentary however preparation for shows will require standing, walking, bending, lifting.
