Your Role and Responsibilities
As an Associate Designer at IBM you’ll focus on customer and employee strategies that explore opportunities to improve digital innovation addressing user needs and designing world-class digital experiences. You’ll support uncovering user and business requirements in the context of the technical landscape through applying User Experience Design Thinking and Information Architecture methods. In your role you may be responsible for:

UX and UI Work:

• Creating wireframes visual interfaces and prototypes.
• Annotating wireframes and ensuring interactions are recorded and addressed correctly.
• Collaborating with other designers researchers consultants and developers.

User Research and Design:

• Conduct user research leveraging IBM Enterprise Design Thinking and manage project-specific user research.
• Support a Senior Designer on UX and UI production tasks incorporate feedback and work closely with developers and testers daily.

Visual Design:

• Create delightful concepts and explore the art of the possible.
• Develop mock-ups and prototypes from sketches and wireframes.
• Work closely with clients senior designers and front-end developers to implement dynamic human-centered digital solutions.

Design Artifacts:

• Create storyboards layouts impactful presentations graphics data visualizations and other design artifacts for client meetings or product development.

Workshops and Collaboration:

• Participate in or lead design workshops.
• Incorporate input from multiple stakeholders.
• Communicate conceptual ideas and design rationale.
• Outline digital experiences screen by screen and work with front-end development teams.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Academic Background:

• A solid academic background and a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. Graphic Design Visual Design UI Design).

Design Tools Proficiency:

• Experience working with design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite and Figma (essential).
• Strong skills in Visual Design UI Design and Design Systems.

Design Principles and Methods:

• Understanding of human-centered design principles and methods including user research and user testing.
• A thorough design-focused and analytical approach to problem-solving.

Communication and Presentation:

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex design approaches and situations clearly and simply.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate and work effectively with individuals to achieve positive outcomes.
• Fluent in all aspects of English and Arabic communication.

Soft Skills:

• Attention to detail time management adaptability and a willingness to learn.

KSA national and eligible to work for 12 months starting September 2024.

• Understanding of project management tools like JIRA and Azure DevOps is a nice-to-have but not required. These tools help in managing tasks tracking progress and facilitating communication within teams.

Focus Areas:

• Candidates should have an understanding of UX but with main strengths in Visual Design UI and Design systems.
