Associate Director, Project Management

Carmot Therapeutics, Inc. is a clinical stage biotechnology company dedicated to delivering life-changing therapeutics for people with metabolic diseases. To support this vision, we’re looking for an experienced and highly motivated Associate Director of Project Management to join our team. This position reports into the VP of Portfolio Strategy and will provide project management expertise and support to the cross-functional program teams.

This role contributes to the definition of project strategy and guides the project core and/or sub teams to deliver on project objectives. The project manager will be responsible for ensuring that the program priorities are executed in alignment corporate goals. Responsibilities include the following:

• Direct hands-on work to develop comprehensive program plans as well as identifying risks and developing risk mitigation strategies.
• Develop and control integrated project schedules and interface with the budgeting process, including long range planning.
• Support diligence processes related to business development and financing activities (e.g. collation of materials from cross-functional teams to populate dataroom for current/future investors).
• Develop progress reports and presentation materials for various forums including cross-functional team meeting, Portfolio Committees and BOD presentations.
• Facilitate project team meetings, cross-functional communication and decision making, ensuring stakeholder alignment.
• Communicate, document, and archive project team activities and decisions.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience and ability as a Program Manager for 7+ years and a BA or BS in relevant field; MS/MA/MBA is a plus.
• Thorough understanding of the drug development process (at minimum, from preclinical through clinical development stages).
• Demonstrated ability and application of project management techniques and methods in a cross functional environment.
• Proven ability to analyze complex issues, synthesize information, and develop program plans and recommendations.
• Strong self-motivation, orientation to detail, and capable of capable of setting priorities and delivering on commitments.
• Strong communication skills written and verbal including the ability to effectively communicate complex issues.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to teamwork and a collaborative working style.
• Excellent knowledge and proficiency of MS Office, inclusive of relevant project management software (Basecamp, MS Project, SmartSheet, etc.)
