Associate Director/Director, Computational Chemistry

The director of FL94 computational chemistry will be responsible for triaging and advancing multiple new program opportunities through to pivotal early PoCs and eventual protein editing small molecule development candidates.  This position will be deeply interconnected across multiple domains including chemistry, biology, DMPK, and machine learning.  The qualifying candidate will demonstrate most of the following attributes:

• Demonstrated expertise with docking algorithms and their development/deployment, with an emphasis on covalent strategies
• Highly competent in the use of molecular dynamics to study protein-ligand interactions
• Reactivity or reaction modeling an advantage
• Familiarity with the concepts and application of deep-learning/ML
• Experience with integrating various approaches into a broader framework to accomplish complex tasks
• Demonstrated expertise with writing python code
• Capable of working within a broader team of scientists

The successful candidate will have all the following qualifications necessary to perform in a fast-paced, purposeful, highly integrated, and pioneering environment

• PhD in any of the traditional life science domains (chemistry, biology, physics, or computational sciences) relevant to small molecule drug discovery
• Minimum 10+ years of pharmaceutical small molecule experience as a functional representative on a multifunctional team at various stages of small molecule drug discovery including early hit ID and/or LO
• Able to team up with chemistry and machine learning to enable generative models
• Be a thought leader and functional representative in a multi-functional environment tasked with creating first or best in class small molecule editors
• Clear communicator, authentic leadership qualities, open to take and give feedback up, down and across the organization.
