Job Summary | Major goals and objectives.
Associate Photo Editor for Dotdash Meredith Premium Publishing (DDMPP) New York will be responsible for assisting photo editors with all editorial and administrative work, including photo research, interface with photographers, licensing and permissions, monitoring and maintaining budgets, quality checks for scans and layouts, movement of files to production and billing. Additionally, Associate Photo Editor will take on these same responsibilities, wholly, for their own projects as needed. Along with internal brands and products, working with Meredith's editorial partners is an important component of the job.
Associate Photo Editor will collaborate closely with the photo department and other members of the editorial team. In addition to the duties described above, responsibilities include attending meetings, adhering to a series of deadlines, acquiring and managing digital assets and monitoring and tracking all photo costs, contracts and credits. Along with internal brands and products, working with Dotdash Meredith's editorial partners is an important component of the job.
The ideal candidate is a team player who has a passion for creative and innovative visual storytelling, a range of interests, a keen eye, and a love and knowledge of photography.

65% - Responsible for researching, licensing, and editing/preparing photos for publication fielding a high volume of photo requests under tight deadlines
35% - General essential administrative work

Education:
BA
Experience:
Two-plus years in a similar position, or a position with directly transferable skills
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Good visual sense and knowledge of photography and narrative; broad based general knowledge of history, science and contemporary culture; strong organizational skills; ability to write clearly and descriptively; good verbal communication skills; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Pay Range
Salary: $58,500 - $64,255
The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Dotdash Meredith's total compensation package for employees. Other compensation may include annual bonuses, and short- and long-term incentives.
