This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of our privacy program, execute on complex projects, and partner with multiple departments across the company to drive privacy compliance and education. Our ideal candidate will provide our internal clients with high-quality advice and, technology-based, efficient solutions tailored to nVent's risk profile while ensuring we handle data ethically and compliantly. This role will be reporting to the AGC Data Privacy and will be part of the Legal & Compliance team. Members of this team are innovative, enthusiastic collaborators; results oriented; independent; actively engaged; and able to influence without direct authority.
WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:
- Act as an administrator of nVent's privacy management software demonstrating subject matter expertise of the tool; evolve and maintain nVent's software-based record of processing activities, cross-border data flows, privacy impact assessments, individual rights requests, data breaches, and transfer impact assessments under applicable laws including PIPL and GDPR.
- Work efficiently with existing software tools such as OneTrust, HighQ and Jira, and evaluate new tools which would provide value.
- Perform privacy reviews working with cross-functional teams to support nVent's privacy-by-design approach for new product features and internal processes and procedures.
- Develop and deliver privacy training and awareness materials and presentations for a global audience.
- Improve efficiency and execute on recurring tasks such as quarterly meetings, education campaigns, maintaining org charts, contact details of nVent's data privacy organization contributors, document retention and version control.
- Help with auditing and documenting the effectiveness of privacy program initiatives; partner with appropriate departments and individuals to resolve noted findings.
- Continually improve and update knowledge to accommodate changes to the organization's regulatory environment and needs.
- Track and report privacy-related queries and metrics.
YOU HAVE:
- Bachelor's Degree required. Preferred in areas of in law, contract management, business management, information systems or a related discipline
- CIPP/EU, CIPM, CIPP/T or certification a plus
- 5+ years of professional experience directly related to data privacy, or compliance, or information security in a multi-national company operating in the US, Europe and APAC.
- Experience with privacy programs that comply with international data privacy laws and regulations such as US Privacy Laws, EU's GDPR, China's PIPL.
- Experience in the administration and use of highly customizable program or project management software tools, preferably privacy program management tools such as OneTrust or TrustArc;
- Skills in building and facilitating privacy-related software-driven assessments on privacy gaps and risk, and implement remediation requirements.
