Job Description
Job Description
Product development engineers are critical to Renesas' power management products. They interface directly with the design and test teams to verify the highest reliability, electrical performance, and quality for our current and future generation products. Product engineers also play a critical role in working with the applications team to shape the final device datasheet through device characterization and validation activities.
As a product engineer, you will be involved with the entire NPI (New Production Introduction) process that starts from feasibility, design, reliability, ATE characterization, all the way to manufacturing and full product marketplace release. It is the product engineer’s job to ensure that each device shipped meets Renesas’ high quality standards. At the same time, a product engineer also works consistently to identify areas to improve efficiency, yields, quality and cost.
Responsibilities:
- Develop reliability and product characterization plans for new power management IC products including buck-boost battery chargers, multi-cell balancing/protection circuits, and core regulator controller IC’s
- Full ownership of product yields and quality from planning stage to production hand-off
- Generate characterization, test, qualification requirements and documentation needed to execute on NPI deliverables
- Work with test engineers and offshore manufacturing teams to develop and validate multi-site wafer sort and package-level test plans for new product releases
- Develop plans for temperature characterization, bench validation, and reliability testing for qualification of new products
- Perform statistical analysis of test and gage R&R data to calculate optimized guard bands and ATE limits
- Interface with design, applications, and test engineering to debug new products, characterize electrical performance, and ensure the highest quality for customers
Qualifications
- Recent graduate with a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering.
- Coursework or experience in Power Management, Data Converters, or Analog/Mixed-Signal Circuit Design
- Strong understanding of advanced statistical analysis, including data interpretation, modeling, and its application to product yields and Cpk requirements
- Effective communication skills for documenting results and presenting findings to stakeholders
- This is a hybrid position.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in IC development, which may include design, layout, manufacturing, or testing
- Proficiency with JMP statistical software and MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Internship experience in the semiconductor industry
