Lightforge Games is looking for an Associate Technical Test Analyst!
We're looking for an Associate Technical Test Analyst to identify and apply test procedures to ensure quality at Lightforge Games. We are seeking candidates who can detect and solve problems and have sharp attention to detail, with the ability to see the overall picture. Additionally, a candidate for this role is an excellent communicator as they will be embedded with the development team for test requests, issue tracking, and resolution.
In this role, you'll work closely with the development team to understand the functional and technical requirements of the software being tested, execute tests, report defects, and validate bug fixes.
By joining us at this early stage, you'll help shape the direction and quality of our games from the ground up. Your insights and expertise will play a vital role in refining the features, improving the user experience, and ensuring the overall success of projects. As an Associate Test Analyst at Lightforge, you'll collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, including engineers, designers, and product managers, to provide valuable feedback and contribute to the continuous improvement of our games. - Listening to and empowering the stories of others—especially those who have been marginalized—in our team culture and in our products.
- Collaborating with stakeholders of developing features to understand the functional and technical requirements of the software being tested.
- Designing and documenting test cases based on the requirements and specifications, ensuring proper coverage of all test scenarios.
- Running test cases, scripts, or automated tests to validate the software functionality, identify defects, and report issues. Analyzing test results and comparing them against expected results to identify discrepancies and defects.
- Documenting and reporting identified defects in a structured manner, including clear steps to reproduce the issue and relevant information for developers to debug and fix the problem. Tracking the status and progress of reported defects until resolution.
- Performing regression tests to ensure that changes or bug fixes do not introduce new defects or impact existing functionality.
- Collaborating with developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to clarify requirements, address issues, and provide timely updates on testing progress and status.
- Collecting and analyzing test metrics, such as test coverage, defect density, and test execution progress, to assess the quality of the software and provide reports to stakeholders.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to communicate effectively in an all-remote and frequently async workplace.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in using testing tools. Familiarity with programming languages, databases, and operating systems may also be necessary to effectively conduct technical testing activities.
- Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical skills to assess complex software systems, identify potential risks, and devise effective testing strategies. The ability to analyze test results, identify patterns, and troubleshoot issues to pinpoint their root causes.
- Test Design and Documentation: The ability to create well-structured test cases, test scenarios, and test scripts that cover all relevant test scenarios. Competence in documenting test plans, test results, and defects in a clear and organized manner.
- Continuous Learning: A passion for continuous learning and staying updated with the latest trends, tools, and techniques in software testing. The ability to learn from past experiences and apply lessons learned to improve future testing efforts.
- ISTQB Certified Tester, Foundation Level
- ISTQB Technical Test Analyst Certification
LFG is committed to an annual review of compensation ranges to account for inflation. The current base salary range for this role is between $51,500 - $66,500 for entry level candidates, and $77,300 - $92,300 for developing candidates that possess some industry experience.
