We are seeking an experiencedAudit Directorto join our assurance practice in our Newtown Square, PA office. This individual will lead audit and assurance engagements across diverse industries including construction, distribution, manufacturing, hospitality, professional services, education, real estate, transportation, environmental remediation, not-for-profit, and employee benefit plans. The Audit Director will oversee engagement teams, ensure compliance with professional standards, and serve as a trusted advisor to clients.
Essential Duties
• Lead, plan, and manage audit and assurance engagements for a portfolio of clients across multiple industries.
• Oversee engagement teams, including planning, execution, and completion of audits.
• Review financial statements and reports for accuracy, compliance, and adherence to professional standards.
• Serve as a primary client contact, maintaining strong relationships and delivering exceptional client service.
• Identify opportunities to provide additional value-added services to clients.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop staff, providing ongoing feedback, training, and professional development.
• Monitor and ensure adherence to budgets, deadlines, and engagement quality standards.
• Stay current with changes in accounting and auditing standards and apply knowledge proactively to client engagements.
• Collaborate with firm leadership on practice development initiatives and contribute to overall firm growth.
Qualifications
• Must be able to work in-office a minimum of 3-4 days per week.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited college/university required.
• Active CPA license required.
• 10+ years of progressive public accounting experience with a focus on audit and assurance required.
• Experience leading audit engagements across a variety of industries.
• Strong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP, GAAS, and other relevant reporting frameworks.
• Proficient with MS Office Suite. Knowledge of audit software PFX Engagement preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple engagements simultaneously.
• Proven ability to develop and mentor staff and foster a collaborative team environment.
• Business development mindset with experience in client relationship management and growth initiatives.
• Ability to meet challenging client requirements, provide services, and possess strong communication, interpersonal, analytical, and research abilities.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment and make sound decisions and recommendations in client related matters pertaining to the audit.
• Must be able to travel locally to clients when required.
