Automation Engineer

As an Automation Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of our digital transformation mission. You'll upgrade our manufacturing equipment software/controls systems, integrate new equipment, and build-out a manufacturing network including implementation of a Data Historian. You'll implement automation software platforms to boost operational metrics, enhance data integrity, and automate the cGMP data lifecycle. Reporting to the Associate Director of Process Engineering and Maintenance, you'll play a key role in our company's success.

The Role

• Lead the implementation of our company's digitalization efforts and make a significant impact on our manufacturing processes.
• Develop User Requirement Specifications for new equipment and automation software platforms and help us modernize automation technologies.
• Manage medium-sized capital projects focused on digitizing equipment and integrating automation software, from budgeting and scoping to commissioning and beyond.
• Collaborate with quality assurance and validation teams to ensure that equipment meets regulatory requirements and is validated appropriately.
• Participate in technical investigations for deviations, and work to implement corrective actions when necessary.
• Troubleshoot equipment downtime related to software and control system failures and be the first line of defense in ensuring minimal disruption to our operations.

The Candidate

• Bachelor's degree in electrical/automation/software engineering, computer science, or related field with 0+ years of relevant work experience required.
• 2+ years of experience preferred.
• Equivalent education and work experience related to controls systems within the Pharmaceutical or similar manufacturing industry may be considered in lieu of a degree.
