Job Summary
As an Automation Engineer, you will be a key member of our manufacturing team in Houston. You will be responsible for engineering, testing, maintaining, and supporting automation solutions within a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Schedule and Location
• Schedule:Monday-Friday, typical hours are 7 a.m. - 4 p.m. or 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., with minimal on-call and weekend/night shift coverage.
• Location:This is an in-person role at our Crosby, TX, plant.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Provide technical automation support for equipment installations, commissioning, retrofits, and continuous improvement projects.
• Maintain and improve existing plant control systems.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns, diagnose issues, and implement effective solutions to minimize production disruptions.
• Identify root causes for equipment malfunctions and determine corrective or preventive actions to increase equipment reliability.
• Conduct routine diagnostic equipment checks and calibrate instrumentation, such as flow meters, temperature, and pressure transducers.
• Program parameters for variable frequency drives and servo drives.
• Maintain detailed documentation of automation systems, including procedures, changes, and configurations.
• Adhere to all safety regulations, including Arc Flash protection and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment.
Qualifications
• A bachelor's degree in Engineering (EE, CS, ME) or a relevant technical degree is a hard requirement.
• Must have strong programming experience, which should be clearly shown on your resume.
• Previous experience with control systems is a hard requirement(e.g., servo motion, Rockwell Automation, SCADA monitoring systems).
• Thorough understanding of PLCs and HMIs, including advanced programming techniques and configurations. (Experience with B&R Automation,Rockwell Automation, and/or Automation Direct is a plus).
• Knowledge ofVFD & Servo Motor Control.
• Knowledge of Industrial Networking (EthernetIP, ModbusRTU, ModbusTCP, CanOpen, Powerlink).
• Knowledge of Industrial Instrumentation (Level, Pressure, Flow, Temperature, Proximity Sensors, Reed Sensors, Laser Distance, and Through-Beam Sensors).
• Proficiency with MS Office and other tools.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
