Azure Cosmos DBA

About the Role:
The transportation industry has no shortage of complex problems requiring creative, data-intensive solutions in order to effectively and efficiently automate operations at scale. In this role, you will be expected to work autonomously and contribute to several high impact projects including optimizing all application touchpoints with the database systems.
Responsibilities

• Provide Cosmos thought leadership with the ability to communicate and influence throughout the enterprise
• Provide clear direction on when to use which Cosmos API
• Mentor the data engineering team on maintenance/administration/security
• Mentor development and application engineering teams on Cosmos optimization and tuning
• Advise on architecture and partitioning strategies
• Index Cosmos DB databases for best performance
• Optimize cloud costs versus performance with Cosmos DB

Requirements

• 5 years direct experience with Cosmos DB/Mongo DB/NoSQL
• Expert knowledge of Azure Cosmos DB architecture and administration
• Extensive experience designing and optimizing Cosmos DB resource models, containers, databases, and collections
• Ability to properly size Cosmos DB by looking at access patterns and data growth to optimize performance and cost
• Must be able to work with application engineering to tune query performance
• Must be able to identify bottlenecks and optimize performance
• Ability to script solutions for automation and testing
• Knowledge of Azure Data Factory a plus
• Strong knowledge of Azure SQL Database/Azure Postgres a plus
