We're looking for a dynamic, people-oriented, highly analytical person to join our development team at Pattern HQ. This is a full-time role that will work a hybrid schedule from our offices in Lehi, UT.

As part of the Core team you will build software that is used to:

• Manage performance for brands and safeguard products from unauthorized use and infringements across all marketplaces, ensuring compliance with legal requirements
• Optimize performance for brands and products by analyzing sales, pricing, buy box, suppression, SEO, and advertising metrics.
• Provide comprehensive seller management solutions for brand-related metrics, compliance monitoring, inventory, units sold, and retail sales assessment
• Implement reporting capabilities, generating comprehensive reports on brand sales, revenue, page views, and Buy Box performance to facilitate data-driven decision-making

What is a day in the life of a Backend Software Engineer on the Core team?

• Work with product and development teams to create software solutions
• Develop and manage well-functioning databases and applications
• Design and implement continuous integration and deployment
• Problem-solve with alternative approaches and in consultation with stakeholders
• Work as part of a team, encourage innovation and best practices

What will I need to thrive in this role?

• 3+ years of experience in Object-Oriented Design using any language like Ruby, Python, PHP, Java, .NET, etc
• Strong experience with ORM (Object Relational Mapping) tools
• Strong SQL skills and relational database experience (Postgres, MySQL, MSSQL, etc)
• Solid understanding of REST concepts
• Experience working with a cloud operations platform (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc)
• Understanding of object-oriented design patterns
• Working knowledge of standard frontend languages and libraries (e.g. HTML/CSS/JavaScript)
• Experience writing integration and unit tests
• Proficiency with Git
• An appreciation for clean and well-documented code
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

What will make me stand out in this role?

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
• Experience collaborating with overseas teams
• 2+ years of proven work experience in Ruby on Rails development
• Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g. React, Angular, Node.js)
• Experience with cloud data warehousing services such as Snowflake or Redshift
• Experience with asynchronous background jobs (Sidekiq, Resque, Celery, etc)
• Solid understanding of messaging concepts and technologies (SNS/SQS, Active MQ/RabbitMQ, etc)
• Past participation in the interviewing or hiring process
