Job Description
The Club at Sonterra is looking for an experienced Banquet Chef to join a dynamic F& B team.
POSITION DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Banquet Chef is responsible for production of all food needed for banquet functions/private parties. Accountable for all food costs for banquet functions. Supervises production personnel used for banquet events. Assists Sous Chef with Executive Chef’s responsibilities during the latter’s absence.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manages food production for banquet functions including menu planning and personnel supervision. Manages food production for all club events including member/guest private parties and golf outings.
• Establishes and adheres to food cost goals for banquet functions.
• Performs other special duties as requested by the Executive Chef.
Working Conditions
• Must have open availability to include evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Will be required to work in fast paced environment.
• A positive image projected by this key staff member is essential. A neat and professional appearance must be maintained at all times, along with a respectful, open minded demeanor to members and outside contacts.
• A significant amount of time is spent communicating and interacting with various people inside and outside of the club.
• Reading and writing abilities are often used when communicating with the club outlets and outside contacts when planning menus and services.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
• Culinary school graduate preferred
• Two years’ experience in supervisory position
• Understanding of a la carte and banquet revenue generation
• General knowledge of expense control as it relates to kitchen payroll and the forecasting/budgeting of expenses
• Technical literacy, including Microsoft Office, payroll management and point of sale systems
• Bilingual (English - Spanish) communication ability preferred.

• Directly To: Executive Chef
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
