Babington House

Situated in a Grade II-listed manor built in 1705, Babington House is surrounded by 18 acres of English countryside in the heart of Somerset. Just 30 minutes from Bath, it’s the ultimate countryside escape for rest, relaxation and seasonal dining. With 33 bedrooms spread across Babington’s historic buildings, Cabins and Lodges, the club features a formal dining space in the Orangery, serving a unique menu centred around seasonal and local produce. There’s also a cricket pitch and tennis courts, indoor and outdoor swimming pool, a gym and original Cowshed Spa.

The Role… 

We are seeking an experienced Barback to join our team at Babington House (BA11 3RW). Your main responsibilities are to support the bartending teams in the smooth running of the bar. This includes ensuring the bar is stocked with spirits, garnishes, ice, and other products needed throughout their shift. You will ensure that glasses, stirrers, shakers, strainers and other bartending tools are clean and in the proper position for use

What we are looking for in a Barback...

• 1-2 years’ experience in a busy high-profile bar (preferred but not essential)
• Team player who communicates well with all colleagues
• Punctual, reliable and trustworthy
• Sense of urgency
• Yes, yes, yes mentality
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
• Have a genuine passion for food and beverage
• Flexible and available to working both opening and closing shifts when required

Expected working hours for a Barback:

• Varying shift times across the seven days, to include working evenings, weekends, opens & closes 
• Average hours 32-45 hours per week
