BI Analyst (Contractor)

We are seeking a BI Analyst in Japan to contribute to a global data governance initiative.
This role requires expertise in SQL, data analysis, and fluency in English, as well as the ability to read and write in Japanese.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed descriptions for data elements
• Conduct an initial review and cleanup of the business terms glossary
• Conduct interviews with users and document findings
• Create user journey maps for predefined user groups
• Create business lineage diagrams and classify data according to standards
• Establish and maintain a complete data dictionary

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Data Business Analyst (BIA or BA)
• Strong proficiency in SQL and an excellent understanding of data-related concepts
• Experience in data-related requirement gathering, such as data pipelines, analytics visualization, application database data modeling, and database development
• Excellent communication and documentation skills in English and Japanese (native or N1/N2 level)
