Job Description

The BioSolutions Engagement Leader will provide operational and scientific leadership and direction to the client and to the internal Business Development Team for potential and awarded programs. As an expert in drug development, they will be accountable to deliver early engagement activities including consultation, operational feasibility, standardization, and efficiency. Upon win, facilitates transition from commercial to operational. They must have the ability to understand the operational and scientific rationale for the development of a wide variety of clinical trials. The BioSolutions Engagement Leader will serve as an operational and service liaison between Labcorp and the client supporting relationship management and delivery on client strategies across Labcorp drug development spectrum.

Essential Job Duties:

Early Engagement:

Advance and deliver early engagement activities including but not limited to:

  • Act as a consultant for scientific or study delivery teams to increase efficiency

  • Drive client decisions to enable accelerated study delivery

Review draft protocol to ensure feasibility

  • Make recommendations that improve study design and logistical effectiveness

  • Facilitate key scientific meetings to resolve issues, enable decisions or discuss new methods

  • Collaborate with Business Development team to ensure an accurate budget quotation

Facilitate contracting process as required to ensure timely execution

Proactively submit specific requests in preparation of protocol finalization and study set-up

Provide sponsor specific operational guidance and direction to project and technical staff

Develop standards and ensure compliance across portfolio

Establish and own process to track value of early engagement activities

Ensure optimal levels of client satisfaction are achieved

Operational Oversight and Business Development:

  • Ensures high-quality, seamless transitions from pre-win through study setup

  • Support the development of and drive the implementation of expanded services for new business as identified by Business Development, NSSO process, or customer needs

  • Assist and participate in pan-CVD opportunity management and operations

  • Coach and support team members to collaborate on the strategic goal set forth for the client

  • Provide advice & input to support commercial/financial judgments affecting a program, pre- and /or post-award; this includes assisting in the development of marketing materials and client presentations

  • Prevent or resolve situations that have the potential to jeopardize client relationships

Relationship Management:

Provide a concierge type service to all levels of client staff including business development, study delivery, data management, and affiliate personnel (e.g., client partner laboratory):

  • Establish trusted relationships and effective communication channels throughout partnership network

  • Develop deep communication rapport, embedded within the sponsor, across functions and multiple levels where necessary

  • Develop thorough understanding of unique client specificities, adapting style to suit individual client preferences and requirements; work with counterpars to develop partnership acclimation plan to support the effective on-boarding of newly identified client partners

  • Solidify relationships for operational and scientific collaboration and expertise

  • Liaise with appropriate internal and external consultants to promote and maximize Labcorp capabilities and opportunities in integrated molecule development

Note: All duties detailed above are directly client-related.

Experience:

  • Five or more years of clinical trial management and/or Pharma experience

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong negotiation and presentation skills

  • Proven ability to grasp complex concepts, be creative, and influence multiple departmental and functional processes

  • Proven ability to manage unusual issues and crisis situations while providing options and solutions

  • Highly skilled in time planning and deliverable management

Education:

  • BS/BA in a life science, medical, scientific, technical or laboratory related science

Pay Range: 130-170K per annum plus annual bonus target
