Oak Essentials is looking for a Brand Communications Manager to join the marketing team. In this role, you will be tasked with developing innovative communications strategies, developing and managing day-to-day media and influencer relations, and working with the Brand team’s events and campaign calendar to amplify their exposure.Â
Role and Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with beauty editors, influencers, bloggers, and industry professionals to secure media placements in relevant publications and platforms
- Craft compelling press releases, pitches, and other written materials that effectively communicate Oak Essentials brand messages and storylines
- Pitch and secure media coverage of new product launches, campaigns, events, and other brand initiatives for Oak EssentialsÂ
- Speak on behalf of Oak Essentials for certain press opportunities. Must feel comfortable being a voice of the brand and be able to speak to our brand story and product strategy eloquentlyÂ
- Identify and capitalize on emerging beauty trends, industry events, and product launches to generate media opportunities and coverage
- Manage day-to-day media inquiries and influencer requestsÂ
- Drive execution of buzz-driving partnerships and earned media strategies for brand
- Stay current with beauty industry news, trends, and competitors to provide strategic insights to the Product Development and Brand teams
- Handle media inquiries and interview requests, preparing the OE team with relevant talking points and media training when necessary
- Manage and coordinate photo shoots, interviews, and other media-related activities to ensure seamless execution
- Manage monthly PR reporting for distribution to the Senior Leadership Team
- Manage the distribution of press materials to all internal teams and stakeholders
- Manage budget for all Oak Essentials press initiativesÂ
- Provide general support on Communications initiatives such as press release drafts, media statements, etc.Â
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Must be local to New York City or Los Angeles, CAÂ
- Minimum 5 years of relevant beauty PR experience (agency or in-house) with clients in the beauty industryÂ
- Strong time management, organizational skills, and attention to detailÂ
- Excellent written and verbal English-language communications skills
- Proven track record creating compelling communications campaigns across traditional, digital and social media that drive strong business results
- Strong consumer media and influencer contacts within the wellness and/or beauty space
- Passion for social and digital media, with a strong interest in leveraging influencers and press to create tangible business value
- High degree of emotional intelligence; ability to navigate successfully in a highly matrixed global organization
- Creative strategic thinker and problem solver
- Extremely organized and detail-oriented
- Demonstrates strong project management abilities
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to move and lift heavy objects (15 pounds or more) from time to time as required

The annual base salary range for this position is $150k - $180k. The base salary is determined by experience, education, skills, and location.
