Your Role and Responsibilities
As a strategist on the Brand & Content Strategy team your role is to help articulate the unique value that IBM brings to customers and apply deep knowledge of our target audiences to define and map customer engagement—in the right place at the right time with value provided at every interaction. We inspire the most powerful innovative and effective creative work that advances and supports our brand all the way through demand generation.
IBM Japan is looking for a Brand Creative and Content Strategist in our Malaysia office to help our team build brand relevance consideration and demand through brand and content strategies that engage inspire and progress clients partners and prospects to choose IBM. You will cultivate a deep understanding of the enduring core ideas and beliefs of the IBM brand to translate them into a powerful and differentiating force for the company using strategy design website activation content advertising social media etc.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Leverage deep curiosity to build an understanding of the market target audiences and IBM’s offerings to create the most compelling messaging and content
- Work with the global and local stakeholders to develop IBM Japan’s company-wide branding strategy
- Understand IBM’s brand guidelines educate the internal audience and ensure adherence to the guidelines
- Localize global brand advertising and brand assets so that they resonate in the Japanese market including translating to Japanese
- Collaborate with other departments to plan and execute content distribution through various media channels
- Work with social team to plan and identify effective content for target demographics though official SNS channels
- Manage production of local content for posting on YouTube
- Measure the effectiveness of actions using data/tools analyzing competition and reflecting the results of planned actions
This is a Hybrid role attendance to the office is currently required only 3 times per week.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Experience in branding work (e.g. creative brand strategy advertising content strategy etc.)
- Solid understanding of optimal multi-channel approach along the entire customer journey including but not limited to social digital media and content
- Excellent written and verbal communications in Japanese (Native or JPLT N1) and English communication skills including the ability to communicate over email and web conferencing and verify translations
- Experience in ad production management
- Analytical mindset to identify opportunities test potential solutions and synthesize insights into recommendations for messaging brand and content strategy
- Project management skills
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- Knowledge and experience in the technology industry
- Experience in research (especially experience in planning designing analyzing and reporting on brand research)
