The Field Museum Housekeeping Team plays a vital role in maintaining the quality and beauty of our historic building for visitors and staff. The housekeeping team is responsible for ensuring consistently clean and well-maintained areas within the public and administrative areas of the museum. Duties and Responsibilities: No prior experience performing job duties below required • Vacuuming • Damp wiping • Sanitizing bathroom fixtures • Mopping floors • Special project work as assigned Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent • Previous housekeeping/janitorial experience not required • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds • Ability to stand and walk for long periods • Ability to bend and reach • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions • Ability and experience using various tools, products, and equipment • Ability to work independently and on a team • Professional demeanor and appearance with a willingness to assist visitors and staff when approached Supervision Received: Receives general supervision from the Director, Facility Planning & Operations Supervision Exercised: This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
