We value: Built Environment & Sustainability Project Manager About the Facility: The Cultivate Collective Sustainability Hub is a pioneering 72,000 square foot facility that serves as a collaborative space for the Academy for Global Citizenship Charter School, Cultivate Collective, and Esperanza Health Center. This net-positive, high-performing building is a model of sustainable design, incorporating advanced green technologies and practices to achieve energy efficiency and environmental stewardship. Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Built Environment & Sustainability Project Manager who will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing a portfolio of facility and infrastructure projects across our school campus. This role involves managing budgets, timelines, vendor relationships, and stakeholder communications to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and aligned with our organization’s goals. Key Responsibilities: • Scope, plan and manage project plans, schedules, and budgets for multiple simultaneous projects. • Coordinate with school leadership, staff, contractors, architects, and vendors to ensure clear expectations and accountability. • Oversee vendor selection, contract negotiation, and performance monitoring. • Ensure projects comply with local codes, permitting requirements, and safety standards. • Track and report on project progress, identifying and resolving risks or obstacles proactively. • Maintain detailed project documentation and prepare regular status updates for leadership. • Facilitate stakeholder meetings and ensure consistent communication across all project phases. • Ensure all work reflects the values of inclusion, sustainability and long-term community benefit. Education and Other Requirements: • 3+ years of project management experience, ideally in facilities, construction, or capital improvements. • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, from small-scale improvements to large capital projects. • Strong organizational, budgeting, and scheduling skills. • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities. • Familiarity with construction contracts, City of Chicago permitting, and compliance. • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or similar credential is not required but a plus. • Experience working in an educational or nonprofit environment is a plus. • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups and manage multiple priorities. The new AGC learning hub is one of the most architecturally ambitious projects in the U.S. today and is paving the way for reimagining the role of “school” and learning environments in cultivating the next generation of globally and environmentally minded leaders. AGC’s new learning hub will provide critically needed access to tuition-free early childhood learning, high quality K-8 public education, health care and mental health services, community wellness facilities and programming, neighborhood gardens and green spaces, and a fresh foods market featuring produce from the campus three-acre urban farm, food forest, orchard, apiary, and greenhouses. A variety of sustainable technologies and innovative learning environments, including STEM labs, tinkering studios and maker spaces, will allow educators to reimagine experiential and real-world learning. Compensation: This is a full-time, salaried position with a compensation range of$70,000–$90,000 annually depending on experience, with full range of employee benefits including: health insurance, paid time off, wellness fund, professional development support, and free, scratch-made organic meals prepared on site.
