Cyient is looking for a senior burner specialist to support our combustion group. We need someone who will have the central expertise in burner technology and will be challenged on both their practical and theoretical competencies when designing innovative solutions. Daily work will be characterized by many different tasks, all of which are necessary to ensure the design and delivery of our burner systems for coal, oil and gas.

This will be an hourly role and the rate for the individual will be:

Weekly hours will be coordinated between this Burner specialist and the Manager of the Combustion Group. Initially, this might be 40 hours per week, but this could reduce over time via discussion between the SME and Manager.

Required qualifications:

Solid knowledge on burners with extensive experience 30+ years (in the utility and industrial space) Extensive and deep background within burner combustion principles, emissions predictions knowledge, mechanical burner equipment knowledge and the ability to properly size and select combustion technologies. Must understand and handle the entire issue of flow and combustion Solid practical background in burner design, manufacturing, and commissioning. Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program required.

Roles and responsibilities:

Knowledge transfer to B&W combustion group team members Sizing of burners and planning of activities for multiple major projects working within company standards and industry regulations to design economical, safe and efficient offerings. Calculation of design parameters with special programs Detailed design and optimization of air systems for burner combustion supports the execution of commercial proposals and contracts related to solid and gaseous fuel combustion in boilers, incinerators and process equipment. Serve as the combustion technical specialist for the organization in the application of advanced concepts, principles, and methods in technologies for energy conversion of fossil fuels, renewable energy and clean power as well as technologies for environmental emissions controls Plan, schedule, and coordinate the preparation of drawings and documents Review procedures to ensure compliance with applicable policies and performance measures. Author and modify new and existing company design standards utilized by the engineering teams. Provide support to resolve complex technical issues and combustion tuning or testing. This support may be on site or from the office. Review P&ID's related to combustion equipment and make recommendations on system design. Author complex technical reports. Routinely interact with external customers, A/Es, vendors, and/or sublet engineers and sublet manufacturers. Lead project meetings and makes presentations as required.
