Counterpart is a management liability insurance platform for the 21st century workplace. We offer products and services to help companies align the risks and incentives of creating great organizations. As an early member of the team, you will be one of the primary drivers of our broker engagement strategy, which includes a variety of strategic initiatives that will unlock new opportunities for revenue and profitability. This will require close collaboration with the insurance brokerage community and other key stakeholders who help to distribute our products to small businesses. 

YOU WILL

  • Appoint new wholesale brokerages to work with Counterpart.
  • Arrange in-person broker meetings as well as broker events.
  • Actively reach out to Brokers primarily via the phone to engage and drive business flow.
  • Conduct monthly and quarterly Brokerage specific communication campaigns.
  • Support our insurance team with marketing communication plans and engagement campaigns.
  • Produce content and materials that help our broker partners to fully understand our capabilities.
  • Onboard new broker teams engaging with them on how to access the platform and expertly explain all of the tools available to them.
  • Propagate a culture of learning and development across all aspects of our insurance platform (claims, underwriting, data, insured services, broker services).
  • Ensure that every touchpoint with our brokers is representative of our brand, mission, and vision.

YOU HAVE

  • Willingness to travel on a very regular to meet with the brokerage community.
  • Strong interpersonal and team building skills, including the ability to work with a diverse team and drive change across functional and business boundaries.
  • Ability to conduct sophisticated and creative analysis of complex data and translate the results into actionable business development insights and deliverables.
  • Confident presenting to key internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Strong project management skills, ability to work across multiple stakeholders to deliver projects on concise timelines. 
  • Comfortable in driving engagement and brand building through creative marketing campaigns. 
  • Experience working in marketing, sales, and / or operations in highly dynamic business environments.
  • Understanding of the mechanics and key drivers of business insurance.
  • Expertise with Microsoft Office (Excel, Powerpoint, Word).

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

  • Mike Levins, Head of Insurance: Mike previously was the Head of Broker Relations and US MGA Operations at Hiscox. Mike oversaw the Midwest region with ~20 underwriters offering 13 different product lines, the primary lines being management liability, professional liability, and cyber/technology. His extensive insurance career has afforded Mike strong relationships across hundreds of retail and wholesale brokers. Mike received his BS from Marquette University and MBA from Benedictine University.
  • Tanner Hackett, CEO & Founder: Having founded two other major startups, including Button and Lazada, Tanner now spends his time focused on mental health through his philanthropy, Openminded.org, in addition to reading, surfing, yoga, and enjoying the outdoors. 
  • Fabio Faschi, Partnerships: Prior to Counterpart Fabio was the founding member of Policygenius' property and casualty division with experience as an independent insurance agent across 50 states, before moving on to Operations management at CoverWallet, an Aon company. Fabio's insurance expertise has been featured on Forbes, Consumer Affairs, Realtor.com, Apartment Therapy, The Simple Dollar, SFGATE, Bankrate, and Lifehacker. 
  • Andrew Kim, Business Development: Prior to Counterpart, Andrew has been an insurance broker at Marsh McLennan, Policygenius, and most recently Insureon. He has a great interest in the insurance industry and developing relationships. Outside of work, he loves to play basketball, golf, and hang out with friends and family.
