Business Intelligence Analyst

As our Business Intelligence Analyst, you will use your broad skill set and passion for data to extend the AWL business intelligence platform. Data is at the core of all our decision making at AWL and the BI team is responsible for aggregating, analyzing, reporting on, and translating this data into insights which drive our business forward. You will interact closely with executives, stakeholders, engineers, and other analysts to optimize the business. General Responsibilities • Utilize internal tools, SQL, Excel & Qliksense dashboards, and SSRS reports that will drive core business decisions. • Validating the correctness and accuracy of internal and external report data. • Providing situation specific analyses to support business critical decisions. • Leverage large datasets for machine learning projects. • Continually optimize our internal database management systems and enhance our internal and external ETL infrastructure. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree, ideally in engineering, finance, accounting, statistics, economics, math, or related field. • 3+ years’ experience as a business intelligence analyst, software engineer, or database application developer. • Strong analytical skill set for translating business requirements into reports. • Ability to think strategically and to relate data to strategic decisions. • 5+ years’ experience with Microsoft Excel; expert-level formula and pivot table development. • Intermediate to Expert level SQL skills. • Knowledge of economics and statistics. • Intellectual curiosity (wanting to know what makes things tick – both in the sense of technology, and analytics, as it relates to our business). • Passion for use of data and technology to explore and solve problems. • A mind that seeks to optimize. Preferred Qualifications • Statistics background/ Predictive analytics. • Experience with OLAP. • Experience with scripting languages/light programming.
