Business Intelligence (BI) Developer

Key Purpose TheBusiness Intelligence (BI)Developerworks collaboratively with stakeholders to develop reporting systems that provide accessible information for decision-making. The BI Developer uses warehouse data to solve organizational problems through reports, analysis and data visualization. The BI Developer will provide enterprise-wide data warehouse expertise with emphasis on data design, access, usage, security and quality of information assets. The BI Developerwill work in support of all managers and users requiring data for decision support and in particular with the Head of Business Intelligence. Success Criteria • Performs technical troubleshooting, code debugging, and problem solving for custom built data warehousing solutions • Assists in implementing effective business analytics practices that drive improved decision making, efficiency and performance • Communicate with nontechnical business users to determine specific business requirements for reports and business intelligence solutions • Communicates regularly with technical, applications and operational staff to ensure database integrity, security and optimized performance at the application and database level • Identifies, communicates, and resolves data quality and data reconciliation issues • Participates in and supports all planning and problem resolution • Performs independent audits and reviews and validates databases to ensure data integrity • Develops and enforces standards and procedures for the storage and retrieval of data • Works collaboratively with colleagues to resolve data discrepancies and/or to clarify reporting procedures • Maintains an accurate and comprehensive inventory of data, data systems, and data storage • Processes data extracts using data retrieval and management tools • Builds effective partnerships with coworkers throughout the company by freely sharing appropriate information and providing assistance when needed • Ensures optimum service to all internal and external partners in response to all requests for service and information • Establishes and maintains effective collaborative and cooperative working relationship across the account Key Areas of Collaboration and Influence • Communicate effectively with colleagues within the Operations Performance group and across the company so that information is disseminated effectively and participate in project groups and meetings as required • Account Organizations, including local Excellence functions • Risk Management and Compliance • External Partners and Suppliers • Promote the IFS model within the ISS community • Transfer best practice Ideal Candidate Experience • 2-3 years in business intelligence and data warehousing environments • Knowledge of SQL and data warehousing concepts • Demonstrated detailed knowledge of BI areas including ETL design, analytics and reporting • MS SQL Server, Integration Services and Reporting Services • Strong TSQL scripting abilities and understanding of complex stored procedures, views, data aggregation/manipulation through table joins/queries, database design, normalization and de-normalization techniques • Demonstrated experience in data extraction and manipulation, ETL techniques • Demonstrated attention to detail on ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of the data warehouse and the individual work units • Possesses strong oral and written communication skills, clearly and accurately communicating complex and/or technical information to both technical and nontechnical audiences • Possesses strong analytical and troubleshooting skills • Self-motivated; able to work within a project-based environment • Ability to work in a team environment • Ability to use presentation, word processing, and database or spreadsheet software • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Economics, Accounting, Finance, or Computer and Information Science required • Experience: 3+ years of Power BI Development (Power BI certifications preferred) Key Accountabilities • Organizational Impact:Executes job responsibilities with the understanding of how output would affect and impact other areas related to own job area/team with occasional guidance • Problem Solving/ Complexity of Work:Analyzes moderately complex problems using technical experience and judgment • Breadth of Knowledge:Has expanded knowledge gained through experience within a professional area • Team Interaction:Provides informal guidance and support to team members Physical Demands & Work Environment • Sitting at a computer for long periods of time, at least 90% of the time • Must be able to lift a minimum of 10 pounds • Must be able to work under pressure and time deadlines during peak periods • Travel requirements: 10% HSEQ Compliance:All employees must adhere to Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) policies and procedures to ensure a safe and compliant work environment. The annual salary range for this position is $98000 per year - $117000 per year . Final compensation will be determined based on experience and skills and may vary from the range listed above.
