Summary
We are seeking a Business Services Manager to join our dynamic team in Las Vegas. In this role, you will play a crucial part in managing business services that support our mission of delivering top-notch tax planning solutions. Your leadership will be vital in ensuring our operations run smoothly and efficiently.
Education Requirements:
A bachelor's or master's degree in accounting or finance is REQUIRED for this role. Generally, a CPA/EA license is preferred at this level.
Job Skills/Responsibilities:
• Previous supervisory experience in a public accounting firm- is preferred.
• Exudes professionalism in all communication, written and verbal to clients and staff.
• Is comfortable with speaking in front of a group and seeks opportunities to do so, by participating in presentations of current, new or changing, accounting and or tax topics to the firm and/or clients.
• Proficient with firm provided software that is necessary for completion of job responsibilities. Including, but not limited to, Trak1099, CCH Engagement, CCH Fixed Assets, T Value and CCH Tax, as applicable.
• Knows how to use reference materials such as Checkpoint, FASB codification, RIA and other research tools.
• Knows QuickBooks functionality
• Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and other comprehensive basis of accounting (e.g. cash basis, tax basis, accrual basis, etc.)
• Strong understanding of the different types of attest services and the steps necessary to complete each engagement type.
• Able to review complex financial statements, including cashflow statement with no assistance.
• Familiar with accounting standards and how to apply them.
• Effectively reviews the work performed by staff and ensure workpapers and final product are organized, neat, cross-referenced, and supported by conclusions.
• Able to research complex accounting and attest questions using the research tools available and prepare correspondence on the same for internal files and correspondence with the clients.
• Able to apply knowledge of cash and accrual basis of accounting, explain the differences to clients, and make recommendation as to which method is better for the client.
• Able to review any payroll, sales and use tax, and personal property tax returns as well as year-end W-2 and 1099 forms.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulatory requirements pertaining to accounting, including sales tax and payroll tax matters.
• Able to assist staff and/or clients in setting up their books in QuickBooks online or Desktop.
• Knows how to use reference materials such as IRS Publication 15 - Circular E, Employer’s Tax Guide, IRS Publication 15-A – Employer’s Supplemental Tax Guide (Supplement to Circular E), and other tools available to research more complex accounting, payroll tax, sales and use tax, and personal and real property tax questions.
