Buzz Squeak and Rattle (BSR) Engineer - Vehicle Integration

Who we are looking for:

Re:Car dba Slate is looking for an energetic, organized, experienced BSR Engineer to join our growing team. The BSR engineer will lead the development of vehicle level targets and specifications for BSR related vehicle attributes, ensure feasibility, and validation on our vehicles. This role will also work closely with the NVH Team to ensure overall vehicle quality for NVH and BSR vehicle characteristics.

What you get to do:

• Review vehicle design and materials for potential BSR issues
• Make design recommendations/standard process to eliminate BSRs
• Make material and material compatibility recommendations to ensure there are no BSRs
• Conduct testing/evaluation of prototype and production vehicles to root cause and remediate BSRs
• Design and facilitate implementation of the production plant BSR process, testing and resolution
• Coordinate with NVH engineers to ensure vehicle noise and sound quality
• Work with design/release engineering and suppliers on BSR issues
• Perform end-of-line NVH/BSR sound quality evaluations, report and resolve BSR issues in assembly plant and assist with NVH issues
• Perform component and vehicle level NVH measurements to identify NVH/BSR issues and develop countermeasures

What you bring to the team:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent from an ABET accredited program.
• 5+ years of experience in automotive BSR/NVH work.
• Proficiency in MS applications including Teams
• Excellent communication Team building and relationship building skills.
• Ability to lead teams and meetings through technical tradeoffs and optimized solutions with attention to detail.
• Broad vehicle technical and vehicle development process knowledge including how to set technical targets, work with teams to resolve feasibility (virtually and physically) and validate with statistical confidence.
• Functional experience with NHTSA/FMVSS, CARB, EPA requirements.
• Automotive Design/Release Engineering experience.
