The Computer-Aiaded Engineering (CAE) Competitive & Market Intelligence and Business Analyst will play a crucial role in driving Siemens's strategic decision-making by providing in-depth analysis of the competitive landscape, market trends, and customer needs within the simulation and test solutions (STS) business unit.

This position requires a strong understanding of CAE market, players, tools and technologies, as well as demands a strategic mind, an inquisitive nature, and the ability to synthesize vast amounts of information into actionable insights.

As an independent contributor, you will take a lead on multiple competitive and/or market intelligence projects with interactions and cross-collaboration within wider Siemens organization.

We are looking for an individual with a strong competitive mindset and CAE industry expertise with the ability to write, speak and think clearly and articulately. This position requires strong written and verbal communication as well as organizational skills, and the ability to manage deliverables across cross-functional teams.

Area of responsibility

  • Research, monitor, and meaningfully articulate the designated competitor's business and product strategies to a diverse set of internal and external audiences
  • Conduct comprehensive market research to identify emerging trends, technologies, customer behavior, and evaluate market size, growth potential, and segmentation
  • Drive cooperation and collaboration with teams including Executives, Product Management, Business Development, Industries, Marketing, Strategy and Innovation, M&A and Strategic Partnerships, and Global Sales and Customer Success
  • Uncover insights that pinpoint areas of strength and weakness across our products, roadmaps, and sales motions
  • Create compelling content (e.g., competitive presentations, battlecards) that effectively position Siemens's differentiated value proposition versus competitors.
  • Provide credible, hands-on guidance to internal stakeholders to help them effectively win against the competition.
  • Leverage competitive intelligence platforms, and analytics tools to streamline processes and generate insights.
  • Maintain internal business performance dashboards to provide backward and forward-looking insights to meet business KPIs

Your qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related field or equivalent.
  • Significant experience in market research, competitive intelligence, management consulting, product management, sales or a similar role within the CAE industry.
  • Strategic analysis and understanding of the CAE market landscape, including market trends, buyer profiles, and key vendors (e.g., ANSYS, Dassault Systems, Altair).
  • Strong writing and presentation skills including the ability to create and deliver compelling content to diverse audiences including executive management
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficient in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, PowerBI, Python).
  • Proficient in English is mandatory.
  • Enjoy working independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in business administration or a related field

Experience in a consulting or strategy role

Knowledge of Cloud/SaaS, HPC, AI industry

Location: Belgium, Italy, France, Spain, Armenia or Hungary.
