Position Overview:The Carpenter is responsible for the construction and assembly of custom props and furniture for events and internal company needs. This hands-on role involves using various materials such as wood, Plexiglas, laminate, and mirrors to create both large-scale and smaller, detailed items. Working under the guidance of the Warehouse Manager, the Carpenter also takes directions from the Warehouse Assistant Manager, Warehouse Lead, and Carpentry Shop Lead to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery of projects Responsibilities: • Build and construct custom props and furniture from materials such as wood, Plexiglas, and mirrors, following design specifications. • Perform detailed carving, beveling, and finishing work. • Collaborate with the carpentry team to ensure smooth production and meet deadlines. • Assist in structural design, layout planning, and installation. • Interpret blueprints and project specs to ensure high-quality work. • Estimate materials, production times, and prioritize tasks to minimize delays. • Determine lumber size and strength requirements for specific jobs. • Measure and calculate precise dimensions using a tape measure. • Prepare props for events (e.g., wrapping fabric, drilling, painting, staining). • Help manage and organize supplies/inventory, ensuring they are used efficiently and stored properly. • Wrap and unwrap furniture and props for delivery. • Maintain a clean and safe workspace by organizing tools and sweeping debris. Qualifications: • Ability to read, write, and speak simple English. • Strong verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with the Warehouse team. • Familiarity with proper packing methods is helpful. • Must provide basic tools (wire cutter, utility knife). • Proficient in using a variety of hand tools (hammers, screwdrivers, drills, staple guns, tape measure) and power tools (table saw, jigsaw, chop saw, router, circular saw, and band saw). • In-depth knowledge of woodworking machinery, specifically saw machines, and the ability to operate them safely and effectively. • Strong understanding of measurements, including the ability to accurately read and calculate dimensions, ensuring precision in all carpentry tasks. • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
