Carpentry Shop Manager

Job Overview EJG Custom Carpenter is a millwork shop with a main focus on commercial cabinets and solid surface. We are looking to expand and are seeking hard working cabinet makers to join our team. This full time position requires a honest and dependable individual who can multitask and work independently. Skills needed include reading a measuring tape, laminating, filing, building, cutting, ect. Quality is the key. You will be responsible for the everyday running of shop. Managing jobs and personal. Responsibilities • Oversee daily operations in the carpentry shop, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to safety standards. • Manage and train staff in the use of hand and power tools, emphasizing best practices in carpentry techniques. • Interpret blueprints and project specifications to guide construction processes. • Conduct construction estimating to ensure projects stay within budget. • Collaborate with team members on various tasks, including trim and frame carpentry, while maintaining a clean and organized workspace. • Address any issues related to construction site experience, ensuring quality and timely project completion. Qualifications • Proven experience in carpentry and construction management • Proficiency with hand and power tools • Strong skills in construction estimating and blueprint reading • Knowledge of trim and frame carpentry techniques • Familiarity with construction site operations and safety protocols • Experience in woodworking and water damage restoration • Ability to lead a team and manage shop operations effectively Job Type: Full-time Pay: From $18.49 per hour Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week Benefits: • Flexible schedule Schedule: • 8 hour shift • Monday to Friday • Weekends as needed Work Location: In person
