Cashier/Sales Associate

The Retail Associate/Cashier receives cash from customers or employees in payment for goods or services. Responsibilities 1. Computes bill of sale, itemized lists and tickets showing amount due. 2. Makes change, cashes checks and issues receipts or tickets to customers. 3. Records amounts received and prepares reports of transactions. 4. Reads and records total shown on cash register tape and verifies against cash on hand. 5. Quotes price and describe features of items for which money is received. 6. Gives cash refunds or issues credit memorandums to customers for returned merchandise. 7. Operates cash register, compile printed lists and display cost of customer purchase, tax and rebates on monitor screen. 8. Performs all other duties as requested by supervisor. Educational Qualifications 1. HS Diploma or its equivalent. 2. Minimum of two (2) years in the retail arena. Character Qualities 1. Understands Christian principles, exemplifies them, and shares with other staff and persons served. 3. Can work in harmony with other staff. 6. Ensures strict confidentiality is maintained. 7. Ability to work under minimal supervision. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. -Work Environment: Constant retail store environment. Schedule: 5 hour days, 5 days a week starting at 9:30am, 11am and 12pm.
