Job Summary
We are recruiting CDL drivers transport goods between various locations, often traveling long distances. They must adhere to strict safety regulations and ensure timely deliveries while maintaining their vehicles.
Responsibilities
• Drive and Operate Trucks: Transport goods over land to and from manufacturing plants or retail distribution centers.
• Load and Unload Cargo: Ensure that cargo is loaded and secured properly, and unloaded at the destination as required.
• Vehicle Inspection: Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to check for mechanical issues and ensure safety compliance.
• Route Planning: Utilize GPS and maps to plan efficient routes, considering traffic and weather conditions.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo deliveries, and vehicle maintenance records.
• Compliance: Follow all traffic laws and regulations, including those set by the Department of Transportation (DOT).
• Communication: Report any incidents or mechanical problems to dispatch or maintenance personnel promptly.
• Customer Interaction: Maintain a positive attitude when interacting with clients during deliveries.
Requirements
• Licensing: Valid Class A CDL is mandatory for operating heavy trucks.
• Experience: Previous experience (two years minimum) as a truck driver is often preferred, with a clean driving record.
• Physical Fitness: Ability to lift heavy loads (up to 75 pounds) and perform physical tasks associated with loading/unloading cargo.
• Education: A high school diploma or GED is required, as is completion of a professional truck driving program. Hazmat certification is an added advantage.
• Background Checks: Must pass drug and alcohol testing, along with background checks as per company policy.

• Driving Skills: Proficient in operating large vehicles safely under various conditions.
• Mechanical Knowledge: Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance and ability to identify mechanical issues.
• Time Management: Ability to manage time effectively to meet delivery schedules.
• Problem Solving: Adaptability to handle unexpected traffic delays or adverse weather conditions.
• Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication skills for interaction with dispatchers and customers.
