As a Clinical Engineering (CE) Technician I, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing medical equipment.

Job Details
Responsibilities:
- Provides routine and as needed clinical engineering services (repair, maintenance, relocation, installation, etc.) for equipment as assigned.
- Maintains documentation of equipment, inventory, service and repairs.
- Performs preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education:
- High School Diploma / GED or equivalent required.•
- Associate's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering Technology preferred.
- Associate's Degree in Biomedical or Electrical Engineering or IT (Information Technology) technical field can substitute for the required experience.
Certifications:
- Certified Clinical Engineer (CCE) or Biomedical Engineering Technologist (BMET) preferred.
Complexity of Work:
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Work Experience:
- Two years of relevant experience troubleshooting and maintaining medical equipment or equipment in a mechanical or electrical technician field required. •
- Equivalent specialized or military training can substitute for the degree.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to climb 8-foot ladders and work on overhead equipment.
- Ability to work in prone positions and in confined, darkened areas.
- Sufficient manual dexterity to use hand and power tools and work on small mechanical parts.
- Visual acuity sufficient to distinguish between colors used for wire color coding and read finely printed blueprints and schematics.
- Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods
- Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment
- Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information
- Ability to travel throughout the hospital system
- Ability to move up to 50 pounds
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
