Job Description
✅ About Us
We are a rapidly growing staffing company in the light industrial sector, proudly serving clients in factories, warehouses, distribution centers, and large hospitality venues across the U.S. With projected revenue exceeding $30 million this year and growing fast, we are a dynamic leader in the $220 billion staffing industry. Our mission is to connect exceptional talent with outstanding opportunities while delivering unparalleled service to our clients. We’re seeking a skilled Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to join our finance team and support our continued growth.
✅ Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to serve as an in-house accountant at our Austin, Texas headquarters. This role is critical to managing the financial operations of our staffing company, including payroll, billing, markup calculations, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have direct experience as a corporate employee at a staffing company (not as a temporary worker on assignment) and a deep understanding of the financial dynamics of the staffing industry, such as payroll funding and client invoicing. This position offers flexibility, with the option to work in-office half-time or full-time based on your preference.
✅ Key Responsibilities
• Oversee and manage payroll processes for temporary associates, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal and state regulations, including payroll taxes and workers’ compensation insurance.
• Calculate and monitor bill rates, applying appropriate markup percentages (typically 35+% for light industrial roles) to ensure profitability.
• Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
• Manage client invoicing and collections, minimizing cash flow gaps due to payment delays (30-60 day terms).
• Collaborate with lenders or factoring companies to secure payroll funding, ensuring liquidity for weekly/bi-weekly payroll cycles.
• Conduct financial forecasting and budgeting to support strategic growth in a company exceeding $30 million in annual revenue.
• Ensure compliance with labor laws, tax regulations, and industry standards, particularly in the light industrial sector.
• Provide financial insights to optimize recruitment costs, operational expenses, and gross margins (targeting 15-25%).
• Support audits and maintain accurate general ledger entries, reconciling subsidiary accounts as needed.

• Strong understanding of payroll funding mechanisms, such as invoice factoring or asset-based lending.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy in financial reporting and compliance.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
