As a Character Surfacing Artist, you will create high detailed texture maps and materials for movie characters and props, as well as the final aspect of the movie characters, working in coordination with Production Designer and Art department to deliver a visually impressive look.

Responsabilities

• Creates textures utilizing photography and pre-existing textures.
• Paints stylized textures from concepts following the look of the show.
• Creates procedural textures from Substance designer.
• Ability to create, adapt, and iterate, within a variety of artistic styles.
• Works with the Production team, Art Director and Visual Effects Supervisor to create the desired look for characters that may reflect any of a wide variety of styles.
• Keeps up on current artistic methodologies and on technology trends and tools that best suit the production and the company in the development of a stronger creative and technical environment.
• Clear understanding of UVs and texture layout.
• Collaborates with other team members, when necessary.
• Follows the Supervisor’s and Lead´s guidance.

Requirements

• 3-5 years in VFX or animation industries.
• 1+ years in the animation industry is desirable.
• Possesses deep knowledge of creating UVs.
• Knowledge of skinning, rigging, lighting and optimization.
• Strong artistic or/and technical aptitude related to 3D animation.
• Experience in Mari, Maya, Substance Designer, Painter, Renderman, Houdini.
• High English level desirable.
• Spanish desirable.
