Job Description
Job Title:Chef de Cuisine / Sous Chef (Corporate/Hotel Experience Required)
Location:Chicago, IL (60614) – Must be within 20-minute commute
Salary:$70,000-$80,000 per year

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead kitchen operations and manage food production, ensuring consistency and excellence in every dish
• Oversee the preparation, cooking, and presentation of high-quality meals for both large and small events, catering services, and hotel guests
• Develop and execute menus in collaboration with the culinary team, with a focus on seasonal, local, and sustainable ingredients
• Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant kitchen environment following all health and safety regulations
• Train, mentor, and develop junior kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient team
• Monitor food costs, inventory, and waste, while ensuring high standards of quality and profitability
• Work closely with the front-of-house and event coordination teams to ensure smooth and seamless service
Qualifications:
• Proven experience as a Chef de Cuisine, Sous Chef, or in a similar culinary leadership role in a corporate or hotel environment
• Strong understanding of high-volume kitchen operations, menu planning, and cost management
• Expertise in kitchen management, food safety, and sanitation practices
• Ability to lead and inspire a diverse team of culinary professionals
• Exceptional communication and organizational skills
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Must be located within a 20-minute commute from the 60614 area in Chicago
Preferred Experience:
• Experience working in upscale corporate or hotel kitchens
• Culinary degree or equivalent formal training is a plus
• Proficiency with kitchen software or inventory management systems
