Job Summary:
The Centre Club is seeking a talented, hands-onChef de Cuisineto lead our small culinary team. This is an incredible opportunity for a passionate chef who valuescreative freedom, as the role includes full responsibility formenu creationacross a la carte and private event dining. The ideal candidate is equally skilled in culinary artistry and kitchen operations, with a proven ability to managefood and labor costswhile maintaining the highest standards of quality and consistency.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute innovative, seasonal menus for both a la carte dining and private events, aligned with member preferences and club standards
• Lead and inspire a small culinary team through coaching, hands-on training, and daily oversight
• Maintain food and labor cost controls, working within budget parameters while maximizing quality and presentation
• Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and compliance with all health regulations
• Manage inventory, ordering, vendor relationships, and invoice reconciliation
• Partner with the General Manager and Events team to design custom menus for special functions and member events
• Ensure a culture of hospitality and excellence, fostering a positive and collaborative back-of-house environment
Qualifications:
• 3+ years of experience in a leadership culinary role; private club or upscale restaurant experience strongly preferred
• Proven track record of creating diverse, high-quality menus and managing cost-effective kitchen operations
• Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to mentor a small team
• Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience
• Food Safety Certification required
• Must be creative, self-motivated, and committed to hospitality at the highest level
