Job Overview Acclaimed Sushi | Bar ATX is seeking an apprentice to execute their bar menu and assist with prep. This position will execute a small but elevated menu for Sushi | Bar's cocktail bar, Golden Ace. This position will work in the same kitchen as the Sushi Bar team during prep hours assisting with creating components for the Omakase menu.Sushi experience is a preferred but chefs with a fine dining background, great knife skills and a desire to learn, can be be mentored and developed to be successful in this position.This is a full-time position, working evenings and nights. Responsibilities • Assist in meal preparation and cooking under the guidance of experienced chefs. • Participate in menu planning and contribute creative ideas for new dishes. • Ensure proper food handling and safety practices are followed at all times. • Execute a small but elevated menu • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to sanitation standards. • Learn knife skills and other essential culinary techniques. • Help with catering events as needed, ensuring timely delivery of quality food. • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations. Experience Ideal candidates will possess some or all of the following experience: • Previous restaurant or kitchen experience within the food industry. • Familiarity with culinary practices, including knife skills and meal preparation techniques. • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices. • Experience with Sushi is preferred Job Type: Full-time Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week Benefits: • Dental insurance • Health insurance • Vision insurance Work Location: In person
