Job Summary Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic, innovative, talented and experienced Chef Manager to lead our culinary team in delivering exceptional dining experiences. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food production and management, with a passion for culinary and hospitality. They will successfully lead our culinary operations at a health-forward food service establishment. The Chef Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the kitchen and food service operations, ensuring high standards in food quality, nutrition, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate brings fresh ideas to the table, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and possesses a strong blend of culinary talent and management expertise. Key Responsibilities: • Culinary Leadership: • Design and execute a menu that reflects a commitment to health-conscious, innovative, and seasonal cuisine. • Lead kitchen staff in preparation, presentation, and quality control of meals. • Implement and monitor kitchen procedures to ensure safety, sanitation, and compliance with food service regulations. • Operational Management: • Control food costs through effective forecasting, portion control, waste reduction, and vendor negotiations. • Manage inventory, including ordering, receiving, and proper storage of all ingredients and supplies. • Maintain accurate records of inventory, production schedules, and vendor communications. • Client & Customer Relations: • Collaborate with clients and front-of-house teams to ensure menus meet nutritional standards and customer preferences. • Foster a customer-focused environment, responding to feedback with flexibility and innovation. • Represent the food program in meetings and client interactions, providing updates and addressing concerns. • Team Management: • Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise kitchen staff. • Encourage a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and respect. • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide mentorship for professional development. • Administrative & Technical Proficiency: • Utilize Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and other kitchen management software to streamline operations. • Prepare detailed reports on food costs, labor, and operational performance. • Leverage digital tools to manage recipes, ordering systems, and client communication effectively. Qualifications: • Proven experience as a Chef Manager or Executive Chef, preferably in a health-focused or wellness-oriented establishment. • Strong culinary background with a passion for innovative, nutritious, and appealing cuisine. • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and tech-savvy with kitchen or hospitality management platforms. • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. • Solid understanding of inventory control, food cost management, and vendor relations. • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and think creatively under pressure. • ServSafe Certification or equivalent preferred.
