Chemistry Laboratory Technician - PM Shift

JOB DESCRIPTION
Under general supervision, conducts investigations for consumer clients by assembling test setups, recording test data, conducting standardized tests, and assembling and disassembling products, materials, and equipment for performance testing products. As instructed, examines basic customer samples, and conducts basic laboratory tests.

• The Laboratory Technician provides support functions within the chemistry lab including, but not limited to cutting and weighing samples, prepping liquids to volume, labeling glassware, and filtering samples.
• Builds and/or adapts basic setup and test equipment for performance of tests. Performs standardized tests using general laboratory equipment.
• Performs routine care of designated test equipment and work area.
• Operates computer terminal to extract/input readily available information and to use available software.
• Reads and interprets results of tests.
• Prepares charts, graphs and reports to explain test results.
• Examines test samples, reads measuring instruments and reviews test data with supervisor.
• Reads and interprets blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams and operational instructions.
• Operates designated testing equipment as directed.
• Receives instructions from and reports data to section heads, group leaders, engineers and other laboratory technician staff. Records observed or calculated data on appropriate data sheets.
• Helps integrate continuous improvement concepts and techniques for lab site.
• Performs other duties as directed.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma required.
• Demonstrated ability to multitask and provide attention to detail required.
• Ability to consistently and reliably work a 2nd shift position (2pm-10:30pm CST) in Rogers, AR.
