Job Description

We are seeking a Chief Automation Tester to join our remote team. This leadership role is crucial for overseeing the automation testing department, ensuring that all software solutions meet the highest quality standards before deployment. The ideal candidate will bring a strategic perspective to the testing process, integrating innovative automation techniques and ensuring alignment with business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure superior quality and compliance with requirements throughout all testing phases
  • Plan, design, execute, and maintain automation scripts, frameworks, and test harnesses
  • Develop test objectives, metrics, and critical success factors that synchronize with business goals
  • Oversee the management, tracking, and reporting of all defects and issues during testing processes
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to QA team members to ensure achievement of quality objectives
  • Formulate and implement test estimation and planning strategies across diverse projects
  • Collaborate closely with business and IT teams to develop comprehensive test strategies and plans
  • Execute test plans, record results, and report defects in an Agile environment
  • Design and execute test cases based on system requirements to support user stories within sprints
  • Maximize the use of QA automation to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness
  • Apply expert knowledge of QA principles, methodologies, and techniques to ensure software quality
  • Lead challenging defect detection, problem-solving, and troubleshooting for complex software
  • Address escalated technical defects as identified by team members
  • Report testing status and outcomes to the Delivery Manager

  • Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a testing role
  • At least 2 years of leadership and team management experience
  • Experience participating in full cycle project lifecycles or multiple projects covering various development phases
  • Proficiency in defect management, including identification, tracking, and resolution processes
  • Knowledge of metrics and key performance indicators to evaluate testing effectiveness
  • Familiarity with SDLC methodologies and their application in testing scenarios
  • Proficiency in SQL for effective database querying and management in test cases
  • Expertise in various test automation approaches, frameworks, and principles
  • Experience working in Agile environments and adapting testing practices accordingly
  • Fluent in English with communication skills at a B2 level or higher

  • Advanced skills in test estimations to accurately predict testing efforts and resource needs
  • Proficiency with test management tools to streamline testing processes
  • Ability to develop and implement comprehensive test strategies
