The IBM Storage Infrastructure Design Team leads the development of IBM’s storage hardware platforms and media technologies. This includes defining and executing storage architectures driving design and implementation efforts conducting reviews resolving technical issues and collaborating with vendors and manufacturing partners. The team operates across multiple business segments to deliver innovative storage solutions. Engineers on this team are expected to bring a broad skill set spanning electrical mechanical software firmware and thermal design. Strong communication skills are essential enabling effective collaboration with internal teams as well as external suppliers and partners to drive technical outcomes. Team members actively contribute to design decisions for both IBM-internal and externally developed products.
- Create plans and architecture for storage platforms using existing products and roadmaps.
- Collaborate with vendors on technical issues and development.
- Report on technical status to management.
- Drive technical solutions and guide IBM engineers and vendors.
