Job Overview
The Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) is responsible for overseeing the marketing strategy and execution for the organization. The CMO will collaborate closely with other executives to align marketing strategies with business objectives and ensure that the company remains competitive in an ever-evolving marketplace. The candidate will lead marketing across digital, retail, B2B, and government channels. This leader will drive brand growth, boost eCommerce performance, expand our social media presence, and support rebranding initiatives. The ideal candidate is data-driven with proven experience in scaling online sales, building strong brands, and navigating regulated industries
Duties
• Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies that enhance brand visibility and drive customer acquisition.
• Oversee all aspects of digital marketing, including SEO, content marketing, social media marketing, and e-commerce initiatives.
• Lead advertising campaigns across various channels, including print advertising and online platforms, ensuring alignment with overall brand messaging.
• Conduct market research to identify trends, customer preferences, and competitive landscape to inform strategic decisions.
• Collaborate with sales teams to create effective promotional materials and sales strategies that support revenue goals.
• Manage the marketing budget effectively while optimizing resource allocation for maximum impact.
• Foster a culture of creativity and innovation within the marketing team to continuously improve campaign effectiveness.
• Analyze performance metrics to evaluate the success of marketing initiatives and adjust strategies as necessary.
• Own brand development—messaging, positioning, and creative direction.
• eCommerce & Digital
• Oversee the website and DTC platform, improving SEO, conversion, and customer experience.
• Manage paid media, analytics, and full-funnel performance.
• Work with ops/logistics to ensure smooth online order fulfillment.
• Social Media & Content (IG, YouTube, Facebook, etc.) to expand reach and engagement.
Skills
• Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms, including Google Analytics, social media management tools, and email marketing software.
• Strong background in content marketing and copywriting to create compelling narratives that resonate with target audiences.
• Experience in e-commerce strategies that drive online sales and enhance customer experience.
• Solid understanding of advertising principles across both digital and traditional media channels.
• Exceptional research skills to gather insights that inform strategic planning and decision-making processes.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams effectively while fostering collaboration among diverse stakeholders.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a knack for storytelling that engages audiences.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and translate it into actionable insights.
• Ø 6+ years in marketing leadership- preferably in eCommerce, manufacturing, or regulated industries.
• Proven success scaling DTC platforms (Shopify, WooCommerce, etc.).
• Familiarity with firearms or defense industry regulations is a major plus.
Preferred Traits:
Ø Veteran or strong connection to military/law enforcement communities.
Ø Passionate about American-made products and the 2A space.
Ø Entrepreneurial, hands-on, and media-friendly when needed.
